Neither one of them are vulgar or pornographic. How absurd. Anyway, the second one is not as good as the first. Jingle Bells doesn't hold a candle to TSO's rockin kickass christmas music.

THIS JUST IN:

The display that's shown here (that is sync'd to the Wizards of Winter song) is going to be on the NBC Today show momentarily - if you want to hear about it, tune in NOW!

Here's the Today Show link (requires IE): http://video.msn.com/v/us/v.htm?g=ab5246e5-7858-4130-a16f-715edb504cc2

And as of yesterday (Dec. 7) the display has now been shut down indefinitely:
So much chaos has been caused over a huge local Christmas display, that it's creator had to shut it down.

Carson Williams put up the elaborate light display at his Mason home and choreographed it all to music. But so many people have been flocking to see it that it's caused a traffic jam in his subdivision. Williams tells FOX19 that there was a car accident in the subdivision Tuesday and the police couldn't get to the scene because of the congestion.

So he's decided to shut it down indefinitely.

:Q I just saw a special on the lights being played on 'Inside Edition'

Apperently this year he did it to some frosty the snowman song.

did they have music blaring outside while this went on?
No: "So that the neighbors aren't disturbed by constant noise, viewers driving by the house are informed by signs to tune in to a signal broadcast over a low-power FM radio station to hear the musical accompaniment." (Snopes.com)

<---- still planning to do a similar project next year, thanks to this thread and links in this thread. 🙂

The next step in my learning curve is how to program it all.
Is it just good timing?
Or can you synch the music and lighting effects digitally?

You'll want to buy a copy of Light-O-Rama, with some of their controllers (or you could build your own controllers if you really wanted to do that). There is a sequencing routine in the Light-O-Rama program... to be brief, you basically click the mouse on every beat (or whatever dignifying mark there is in a song that you want to recognize) while you listen to it. And then it builds an excel-like grid, and you can manipulate what it does at each specific timing interval.

That would look neat sync'd to say chainsaw kittens. Screw the FM, run it through a 20,000 watt Peavey PA system.

Had to bump this....just saw this in a commercial for Miller beer. Same music and house and everything. Pretty bad ass that it was on ATOT first. Anyone seen that?

But this week, Carson Williams became a victim of his own success. After a fender bender in front of the lights, the cops told Carson that the display was becoming a public safety threat. So he pulled the plug until next year.

It was only a matter of time...
