I currently have a Voodoo3 3000. My son does some gaming, but not enough to warrant a top-of-the-line video card. BB has the Radeon 7000 on sale for $80. Is that a good choice? Are there better choices for the money?

Also saw a GeForce2 MX400 at NewEgg for $65. Is that a better deal?

I have been snooping around for a $100 card too (2nd system for family use).

How about the Radeon 7200? It is around $99 and from what I've read offers great 2D and 3D performance. If 2D is important then I would go with Radeon over the Geforce MX400.

Go to pricewatch and get a Inno3d Geforce 2 Ti 32MB for $89 shipped. Should overclock nicely to 275/450-460 and will be much faster then the other two cards you mentioned. Although the Inno3d brand has excellent image quality, there is another thread on how to disable the low pass filters and gain even better quality. You can also resistor mod to a Quadro 2 Pro. I have done both to all three different Geforces in my house and the results have been astounding.

You can get a Gainward GF2 Ti/450 64MB retail boxed for $89 at AVLogic.
You can also get a third party Radeon 7500 retail boxed for $92 at FTIComputers

Either of them would be better solutions then any of the previously mentioned cards.
