Pat's although I've never eaten at Geno's. They're right across the street from each other and Geno's looks like a tourist trap. Both had long lines.
Man Tony Luke's is awesome, there's one here in Manhattan by my office. The roast pork sandwich is excellent!Originally posted by: Jzero

Seems this topic comes up every year...
Anyway, they're both tourist traps.
The "real" Philadelphians are going to Tony Luke's, Dallesandro's, Pudge's....everybody has a fierce devotion to their local shop, but few actually go to Pat's or Geno's unless they are drunk and it's very late.
Here is a link to the authoratative cheesesteak rankings. You will probably need to visit bugmenot.com for a login.
I can no longer find the accompanying chart with the rankings, but the #1 spot was a little place in Bridesboro that is only open for lunch, followed by Tony Luke's.

john's roast pork on snyder ave by the new lowe's. It's situated near the railroad tracks and it looks like it's close most of the time but it's not.
