Any suggestions? I'd prefer 22" or 23" so I can put two on my desk, but these probably aren't very realistic at that resolution. 24" might have to do.

I'm close to giving up and maybe just going the awful 16:9 route and do something like this Asus VS239H-P. The price is right and it's IPS. I feel like with the TN now I have to readjust the angle on the damn thing every time I decide to slouch in my chair or sit up straight. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16824236288

The ASUS 24" IPS is 16:10, 1920x1200, but it's a whole lot more $:

Or go for a single 16:9 2560x1440 27" IPS, but you end up with less space vs 2 x 23-24" and less effective for multi-window workflow, imo.

So, I'm voting with your wallet, get 2 24" 16:10 IPS monitors. Your eyes will thank you for it. And it's not just the viewing angles that make IPS better than TN, it's the on-axis inline sub-pixel structure that makes it so much better to stare at hour after hour. At least to me.

But, if it's a budget thing, wouldn't hesitate to use 2 x 23" 16:9 IPS screens. < $200 IPS screen is an awesome value. Your eyes will still thank you, only 120 vertical pixels less grateful, so that's not much to worry about. And if the choice was a single 24" 16:10 IPS vs 2 x 23" 16:9 IPS, I'd take the two 23". Multi-monitor setup is so much more productive. Even when you're slouching. ;-)
