Hey

Okay, I've asked a few motherboard questions before for the new system I want to build but I'm looking at a "different route" per se. I was thinking of overclocking and all that jazz but for what I use a computer for, I don't think I'll ever see a benefit in overclocking, especially in a HTPC case. I've been told by many that at stock speeds, Sandy and/or Ivy would be WELLLLL above plenty for me. So with that said, and without losing nice features and functions, and at least 16GB or 32GB memory slots, and maybe if possible the UEFI BIOS. any suggestions on a very nice cheap MICRO ATX motherboard?

So...

- No overclocking
- 16GB or 32GB memory
- Micro ATX
- Good features
- UEFI BIOS

Here's the ones I have in mind thus far

Thanks a lot! : )

either would be good.. motherboard choice comes down to a brand preference you feel most comfortable with more than anything else if you ask me.

Only thing I can absolutely assure you is that you don't need anywhere NEAR 16-32gb of ram for HTPC usage. 32gb ram would be literally 16 times as much RAM as you'd ever utilize for media purposes.

You could even spend about half the amount as those boards you linked to and go with something like this:

Ah I see, thank you for the suggestion. Also, sorry I didn't clarify this from the first post but even though this IS and will LOOK like a HTPC, it will still be my main PC and such. I want it to have power, functionality and be as feature-rich as possible for the buck. I don't do anything crazy but still, I don't want to stick some Pentium processor in it. And I know, I do not need 16GB or 32GB of memory but I like that the option for upgrade is there, know what I mean? Because heck, you never know. I know I'd probably only need 8GB personally. So again, this would be my "daily driver" if you will, my everything and all computer. I'm not made of money so I can't have this and another computer.

PS - I know the boards I linked were more expensive, thats because I was doing something you shouldn't do, buy into cosmetics, lol. I like the black personally. haha.

Thanks again! : )
