29.99 a month
350 anytime
Unlimited Nights and weekends

That was the best deal I could find, considering they gave me 20 bucks after rebate for my phone.

<== monkey dance

EDIT: I got it with ATT. I think ATT has 2 lines with unlimited minutes between phones on the plan for like 60 or 70 a month. Add another phone for 20. Unlimited nights and weekends, but I forgot how many anytime minutes they give you.

T-mobile has $39.99 600 anytime, unlimited nights (after 8:59 PM I believe) and weekends. No roaming and free long distance. I think that's the current best plan on the market.

---

But of course if T-mobile sucks in your area then stay away. Ask around YMMV.

According to your profile, you are in NY. Based on that, I would suggest looking at Sprint and Verizon as those two have the best coverage for NY (especially NYC). Verizon is a bit better in my opinion as that is what I have. But I know people who swear by Sprint.

Almost everyone I know on ATT hates it. A few friends of mine are on T-Mobile, but don't live in NY, and they like except for the lack of coverage areas.

Almost all the cell phone companies have very similar pricing plans. One might say unlimited nights/weekends while the other says 3000 minutes (essentially the same thing).

T-mobile has improved greatly for me when compared to the beginning of the summer. This is for Long Island and upstate NY (Albany). I agree with you to stay far far away from att wireless.

LOL! Nextel is the worst of the bunch. A friend of mine has it and if he leaves NYC, he gets ZERO coverage. Meanwhile, I'm on Verizon going into the mountains in Vermont, with full digital signal. He can't get a damn thing.

Nextel is great for businesses, but don't use it for personal use. Especially if you travel.

200 Anytime
500 Nights & Weekends
1000 Mobile to Mobile

$19.99 a month. Verizon.

I don't get long distance, or free roaming but hey I don't need em and I don't use my phone all that much. Can't beat what you get for the meager price. This is a corporate plan though.

I got the $39.99 T-Mobile plan with 600 anytime minutes, unlimited nights and weekends, no long distance charges, no roaming fees, and free Samsung S105 phone. I just like the phone, its a step up from my old Nokia and the ghey AT&T service.

Cell phone service is like a pair of shoes. If they are comfortable wearing them, then go for it. I travel a lot, but I don't go into the mountains of Vermont often. In fact, I don't go anywhere remote. I stick to the major highways and cities when I do travel. I live in a major city so I don't have a problem there. Nextel has been excellent for me and many of my friends. I am glad you have good service with Verizon, in fact, if you travel to the sticks or BFE, then I would recommend that.

I too have the Nextel Breakthrough 10000 for $54.99/month.. That is an unbeatable plan especially with the unlimited direct connect. I am in the central PA area and here Nextel has one of the best coverages.

I HATE AT&T and CINGULAR!

yes, and i like T-Mobile

Nextell, from what i hear, is unanimously the best cell phone providers.. thats why most of their plans cost more.. its geared towards business users

agreed. a lot of t-mobile haterz on here, but in Texas, T-mobile service is really good. and their CSR is by far the best of anyones. I've called them at least 20 times for various stupid things and i get thru to a live CSR in no more than 30 seconds, all times of the day.

The absolute best deal going is ATT with UNLIMITED ALL THE TIME 24/7 Free Nationwide Longdistance for $99/month. But, it's not that great of a deal since their cell service is terrible.

The best deal I could find is Sprint's 2000 anytime and Unlimited nights and weekends Free Nationwide Longdistance for $89/month. The $39 plans are useless since there's roaming charges and you always use all the anytime minutes. JMHO.

i have sprint pcs. $30 a month for 300 mins, unlimited nights and weekends. also, free pcs vision (web), for the first 3 months ($10 a month extra after that). you have to sign a year contract, but you can change plans in the middle without any penalty. i'm gonna take off pcs vision after the first three months :). also, you can add unlimited sprint to sprint calling for $5 a month extra.

edit: i got the sanyo 4900 free after rebate, and made $20 on the deal. (phone: $100, extended service plan: $40, car charger: $40, mail-in-rebate: $200). also, you can get free ringtones and such for free at matrixm.com
