Best CDR media...

I've got a bunch of generic CDRs that work fine for software and stuff, but when I play either CD audio or MP3 CDs in my car audio player there are problems. Some tracks freeze at certain points, some have slight skips/gaps, etc. I know it's not my player itself, as it plays all studio discs perfectly as well as some older CDRs that I have (burned on different media, which I don't know the source of)

What's generally the most reliable media? I don't want to keep having freshly burned discs skip :(

I prefer media that is blank on the surface, or mostly blank at least. Big brand labels annoy me. I want to see what I label the disc with :)

Look for Made in Japan Fuji media. These are Taiyo Yudens. Limit the burn speed to 24x MAX!

Burn speed is an issue? :(

I've got media that is supposedly fast enough to burn at full speed, it wouldn't be a big deal to lower it though. 3min to 5-6min isn't too big a jump if it'll help with readability.

The thing that is weird, though, is that these discs will usually play in some players, but not others... but the player in my car is almost brand new and is totally clean. And it always skips at the same spots, it's not random.
