I haven't done any converting in a couple years. In the past I used Cdex and Easy CD-DA Extractor, which seemed the best because they were fast, and smaller/more basic. Either one of these still the quickest, easiest, smallest now?

FAQ

One option not mentioned in the FAQ at the time it was written is ripping from iTunes (iTunes wasn't available for the PC at the time - it is now). I don't know how iTunes sound quality compares to an EAC/Lame combination, but it certainly is a more straight forward process.

Is Easy CD-DA Extractor not popular anymore?

Do EAC's MP3's really sound better?

Between EAC, CDEX, Easy CD-DA Extractor (for newbies, this is not Roxio's!), and Razorlame, which would you use?

DannyBoy, why do you like Musicmatch?

EAC and lame for encoding are my picks. iTunes and MMJB are nice for quick encoding but the quality won't be as good. Try both and see if you can tell the difference though.

Cool, I'll try CDex and EAC (w/ lame). Curious, why not Easy CD-DA Extractor or Razorlame?

you prolly didn't set it up right or EAC didn't get all the right info from CDDB.

i've ripped 100's of cds in mp3 / mpc / ape with EAC and it hasn't failed me yet.
