Best CD-R's for music?

I'm about to run out to my local stores to buy some CD-R's in bulk to burn music to and I'm wondering which are the best. I've got Office Max, Sears, Best Buy, CompUSA, Walmart, and Target. Now, I know the japanese ones are the best quality, but since they are all branded I can't tell which ones were made in Japan or Taiwan or whatever. Any insight? Thanks all.

EDIT: PS - I don't need jewel cases.

Whatever is cheapest. I've bought some pretty obscure brands of CD-Rs before and I've never a problem yet. I would go to Staples and get whatever is the best deal.

Kind of a ripoff. I usually get a 100 spindle of Memorex for like $15.

Yes I think.... it should say max performance and archival quality on the case.
I got mine for $6 from BB during a sale.

I always like Verbatim.

Their DVD-R and DVD+R has the really nice MCC media.
And thier DVDR9's have MKM, also really nice.

Not sure about their CD-R's but with their track record, I'm sure its good.
And it's cheap too.

 Fuji CDR's from Japan are the best i've used so far. Wait until they are on sale at Best Buy then grab a few.

The worst ones i had were Philips. Rated at 40x but won't burn faster than 12x on my Ben-Q and Nec drives (both have latest firmware too). I had a coaster for every 5 that i burned and my music skips on my player. I could have gotten a bad batch though. The Fuji's on the other hand have been flawless so far.

My burner has burned any CD-R media that I've thrown at it. I really don't think the quality of CD-Rs matter that much because its pretty hard to make really bad ones.

I just got back from Best Buy...bought a pack of 50 for like $20 and on the box it said "Made In Japan" so I figured they were good. All the rest were made in either Taiwan or Malaysia.

I saw these Verbatim CD-R's there that were made to look like little 45's, they were pretty damn cool. Didn't buy them though.

does it matter? music mixes tend to just get lost or destroyed after a while anyways
