One of our cats likes to jump on my new desk. Well, he used to.

It really works

Way to overreact to what was likely a 1-2 second shot in the direction of the cat. The noise alone was probably enough to scare off the cat.

spraying water on them works as well, but you might not want water on your desk.

the compressed air can, is it upside down, or right side up when you spray the cat?

We bought these pressurized cans of air with a motion sensor mounted on top and they worked really really well but the wife kept setting them off when trying to pass them so they wouldn't last long :/

Stupid cats. They never learn and think they're all "independent".

Pfft... who fills your water dish?

HA! My cats must have missed that memo.

We finally figured out what the OP did, now all we have to do is point the can without spaying. :p

I use an aircan when my cat gets on my kitchen counters, but the desk is her territory too.

QFT...you aren't supposed to directly shot the air onto the cat.

From a distance the sound and more than likely the air pressure change they feel is enough to send them running (more than a spray bottle of water even did).

Even today 3 years later my cats all stop what they are doing and watch if I have a can of air.
