Best Case to handle the size of the new video cards?

Anyone have a recommendation for an Aluminum case that can handle the size of the GTX 280 / 4870 X2 and be able to handle a good size CPU Heatsink solution?

Gigabyte Aurora 570, specifically longer to suit bigger video cards. I have the smaller version and it is a really solid, great features case.

Or the Ultra m998 you can usually find several places running specials on it at any given time. The basic design has been around a good while as the Akasa Eclipse 62, etc. It can be almost totally disassembled except for the frame for easy modding. The Antec Titan series can also hold big cards as well as the Chenbro SR105xx server/workstation series. If you find you like the Chenbro, a friend of mine may have a new one for sale. Sorry, only the m998 of the above is of aluminum with plastic bezel. Other than that, you are looking at Lian Li, high end Silverstone or Thermaltake. The Silverstone TJ03 and TJ05 have aluminum bezels with steel chassis. The Gigabyte 3D Aurora 570 is mostly aluminum but getting hard to find.

This was my answer. 🙂 That's the bottom line, really; if the case can take an EATX motherboard, you're guaranteed to fit any card out there.

For a reasonable price (which is hard to come by in aluminum, so this one is steel), Cooler Master's CM590 Centurion has the most cavernous MB tray I've worked with (at least in front to rear dimension). There's tons of room for long VGAs in there. I just wish it had the slick removable MB trays that my two Kingwin (aluminum) cases have.

Personally. I love the CM690, fits the GTX280 (though you need to remove a few cable management brackets.
