Sponsored me for parts in the build in my sig, great guys with great service.

Just out of curiosity, how does one get sponsored to build a computer and why would a company choose to sponsor you, or anyone for that matter?

I second that.

A company sponsors you for getting word of their business or products out. For case modding, they may sponsor you in exchange for posting a worklog like this:

If you're interested in how it all works, take a look at this guide.

Interesting. Thanks for the response. I couldn't see how companies would get advertising out of a computer build, but a worklog makes sense.

I browsed a bit of your log and you did a great job on that case. What case is that? I'm in love with it so I have to know. You said it's a Lian Li rebadge but...

It's a Rocketfish Full-tower rebadged by Lian-Li for Best Buy. The Lian-Li equiv. case was about 300?, and Best-Buy ended up putting these on clearance for as low as $47 a few months ago. They are almost impossible to come across now, however.

I also got in on the deal (purchased 6 of the cases) modded one, sold 4 and kept 1 new in box. Although mine is no where near as neat as Cheezeit's, the link to what I did to mine is in my sig.

Haha you guys said it. Case is a Best Buy rocketfish full tower I picked up for $47. I spent considerably more on modding the case then the actual case cost :) Between Hard and bit-tech, my worklogs got over 15,000 views so thats how a sponsor can pick up some advertising from an enthusiast, and give also back something to the community.

Glad you guys liked my work.

ummm...

case modding sites?

or vendors who deal with case moding?

or vendors who do case moding?

theres a lot of difference between the three.

And Eva is currently sponsored by koolance on the cpu block. So yes if your build is WOW, companies will sponsor you for the publicity.

It's also good to show vendors you're a member of several forums where your project will be seen.
