i have the black incipio feather on my 4S. reused the same one from my 4, and also had one on my 3GS a while ago. its just what i look for in a case - extremely thin, but enough to cover the back and sides of the phone.

wow I hate that apple cutout so much, automatic veto here.

I have a hard time selecting anything other than the capsulerebel

I don't see why people care about the Apple cutout, I could take it or leave it. But if I have to choose between the Apple cutout and the ridiculous-looking back on that CapsuleRebel, I'll take the Apple cutout. 🙂

The Commuter seems like it would be decent for drops, but I'm not drop-testing my own phone to find out!

I don't see why people care about the Apple cutout, I could take it or leave it. cutout. 🙂

I'm part of the "I don't want to show this phone off just because its' Apple" crowd, so I prefer something covering the apple.

yesterday I bought ip4s and went to buy Belkin Essential 025 case I could not find hard case

I love my Otterbox Defender. Sure, it's huge, but I don't worry about the phone in there. I bought some cheap dock extender cables from dealextreme and haven't had any problem using them w/ the case.

I bought the OtterBox commuter on the weekend ... and to 'resolve' the cutout ... I've got a picture of my dog in there over the Apple Logo 😀

Got a 4S in white, so there was a period during which people were going back and forth about the white being slightly thicker than the black, which made me a bit cautious about buying cases. Anyway, I started with a Griffin Elan Form, which had a little bit of shock absorbing foam on the back, but none anywhere else. I was careful with the phone and it worked well. But I wanted some kind of screen protection. And edge protection.

So I got a Skinomi Techskin. It's one of the wet installation shields, but I did a damn good job applying it. The problem was that it wouldn't fit inside the Griffin case anymore. So I went a couple of weeks without drop protection but with scratch protection. The phone felt noticeably thinner and I liked it. So I began to look for a bumper-style case.

I found the SGP Neo Hybrid IIs. This one fit around my Techskin. It added a little bit of bulk to the phone, but now I feel that it's relatively well protected. I'm pretty happy with this combination. Except for the fact that I've got the $35 Griffin sitting around gathering dust.
