I'm building myself a new core 2 duo pc with the 6600. I intend to use a geforce 7950GX2 with it as well.

I'm looking for a case with great cooling that doesn't sound like a hurricane or look like a plastic toy.

So far I'm liking the Cooler Master Stacker 830,

and the Lian Li V1000 plus,

what else is out there that is simular to these thats great for cooling, good quality, doesn't sound like a hurricane and does't look like a plastic toy? Heh, I'm quite particular.

Lian-Li PC-101 is an excellent quite case. Same interior as a V1000 Plus, except it has a door on the front instead of mesh, so it dampens noise:

Or the Lian-Li PC-767 if you want a bigger case similar in size to the stacker. I personally use this case, and its great, especially with the quiet 120mm blower fan that mounts right over the graphics cards to exhaust graphics heat. Only warning is, your power supply needs a fairly long P4 cable on certain motherboards (This is the same problem the Antec P180 has). It has my Opteron 170 Running at 2.667 Ghz, and its quite quiet, despite me having 5 120mm fans in it, including an 80CFM exhaust fan..

Normally I dont like suggestion monarch, but if you get the PC-767 from newegg, its over 100 dollars more, and doesnt come with the blower fan, which is a very important component for cooling this case.

Look at the Aerocool CoolView. or Masstige (actually the Bay Dream). You don't have to use the 3 side fans if you don't want to. If I had one, I'd pull the side fans and block the vents on both sides. Put a 120 in the mount for the front drive bays (or perhaps get the Scythe bay fan assembly), put another in the back, and put the HDDs in a CM 4-in-3 or a L-L 4 drive rack (or even a Tt iCage if you don't expect to have more than 3 HDDs) which has another quiet, low-speed 120 fan on it. You get a Gatewatch system almost for free with the CV - $30. rebate on Newegg. Super deal.
