I am looking for your guys best suggestion for a card around the 150 area but not really much higher. It will be used in a non overclocked system P3 800 and not really for games.

Thx Brian

Not for games? A Matrox G400 should do fine. I had one on a test system at work and the 2D is second to none.

OEM G400 32 MB Single Head runs about 110 - 120 $US shipped. Dual head OEM G400 is about 150 $US shipped.

I'll second that. If you're not going to play games, your $$$ will be best spent on a G400, an ATi (if you want a bunch of nifty bells and whistles) or even a V3-3500 (more bells and whistles, real nice 2d quality)

For $150 you can get the G400 Max!

Nah, if you're not playing any games, get yourself a V3-3500, or something from ATI that offers DVD decoding, TV-in, etc.

The new Matrox G450 comes out this month and will feature everything the old G400 Max has but at a lower price (approx $150USD). Should be a nice card, especially with Matrox's track record with premium image quality.

Id say GeForce 2 MX. Probably the best bang for the buck. If you dont want the MX, Id suggest the Voodoo 3 3000 because it is one of the best cards to overclock.

I'm using a ViperII, you can find them for under $100 now.
It plays all the games I have very well(Q3A, UT, Starcraft, Icewind Dale, Diablo I & II...) and plays DVD's very well also. 2D image quality very good also, not as good as a G400, but close.

It runs fine on my system with the latest drivers. You can probably forget about any future releases of drivers since S3 sold out. But mine runs great and I haven't any problems with any of the games or applications that I run.
