Ok, here is my situation.

I am building a new system and I am not sure what to do about my video card. What I want is something that will let me record video and edit it on my computer without any trouble, but also let me play the latest games so that they still look great.

My old system has an Athlon 500MHz with an ATI-TV Wonder and GeForce2 MX, but that combo doesn't seem to work very well. When I record stuff from a video tape, it jumps around and just isn't smooth. I'm not sure if that's my processor's fault, the video card, or the TV Wonder?

Anyway, I need some options. I will have a T-bird of atleast 1.1 GHz and 256MB of RAM. Should I buy one card that works great for everything? Should I get a good video card and then buy the tv card seprately?

Does anyhere record video to their PC without any trouble? If so, what the heck do you have???

I second the recommendation for the AIW Radeon. It has decent game performance -- although ATI's drivers still leave something to be desired. It also has the video inputs that you need. In order to get good recording, you need a fast processor, a fast hard drive, and a good video card. If your going to be doing a lot of recording, consider getting 512MB of RAM since it's so cheap these days. You may also want to have two different hard drives, each on its own IDE channel: one for Windows and the recording programs, and one for recording the actual video. This will help minimize any skips or dropped frames.

Good luck!
