best card for dual monitor setup

I've got a client who wants to have a dual monitor setup on a machine we're building for him. I haven't set up a dual monitor machine for years and I was wondering what the best card to do it with now was. Thanks.

nah...this guy is looking for something flashy and there's a good chance this will turn out to be a pretty respectable machine. I just don't know what cards offer dual monitor support these days.

Pretty much all vendors offer dual monitor support but Nvidia Nview is much superior to ATI Hydrovision. Go with Nvidia card of your choice.

matrox makes the best multi-monitor cards, but you'll be paying some bank for those. but yeah, go with an nvidia card. you can get the 6800NU if you want that beast to be able to play some games and still have your dually 🙂

It depends on what kind of monitors he wants to run... if he wants to run dual DVI than a 6800U is the card, or of course Matrox. If he doesn't want to run that i recommend a 6800NU which should last for a while... seems to be one of hte cards to have right now.

unfortunately he still hasn't made up his mind on that just yet. We already know that he wants to be able to watch TV on one of them, but we don't know in what context. We have a phone call scheduled for today to help us narrow down just what it is that he wants. It could be anything from two LCD tv's to one of those dual screen LCDs with a TV tuner card.
