Best card for 3D modeling/design and video?

I'm putting together a new system (my 1st build) and can't decide on the most appropriate video card for my needs. I'm looking to stay between $100-$150 but would spend up to $200 if its worth it. I do alot of 3D modeling/design/rendering with Solidworks and Pro/E. Don't do any high-end gaming but plan on watching/recording cable tv. Would like a reliable and "quite" card. Ive looked at some of the Nvidia 6800's, ATI X800's and X1600's but not sure. Anything is better than the NVIDIA Sony TNT 64 i have on my Vaio!
Also, any suggestions on a video capture/tuner card?

New system:
Asus A8-N SLI Premium MB
AMD 64 X2 +4400
2 GB Corsair XMS

you probably want an ATI firegl or nvidia quadro I would think..

Those are out of my budget...No? I'm looking for the best price/perfomance.

Then it likely doesn't matter too much which one you get.

Maybe consider on of ATi's All-in-Wonder cards; TV tuner & graphics card all in one slot 🙂

Does this mod increase game performance too? I have a 7900GT, which quadro would i mod into. I could switch between the two for gaming and modeling.
