This is for a christmas present - would prefer a mainstream mag (ie., not "lowriders)
that reviews most normal cars (not a lot of test drives on lamborghini (sp?), astin martin (sp?), etc)

any info is appreciated
Thx

Yep. They occasionally have the custom-job or exotic tests, but for the most part they're the People's Car Mag. That and the letters section can be gold at times. :D

I personally like Sport Compact Car

But that appeals more to the tuner/younger crowd, but they do review very practical cars ususally

Its Motor Trend. I mean seriously MT.

MT gives alot of time to the Stang and the Vette.

Car and Driver has the best writing of any car magazine I have read. Much better than Road and Track or Motor Trend.

Car and Driver has been my long-time favorite. Its the best attainable car magazine out there. If they like info more quickly, then maybe Auto-Week, although they are about 15 pages of actual content and 30 pages of ads.
