Best car adapter for the ipod?

Cassette adapter would be your best bet for once. If that's not an option, then FM modulator is your only other option really.

Fm Modulator is the route I have to go unfortunately...

Any suggestions on brands?

Whatever is cheapest. They all suck. (except the hardwired ones)
