hey,

i'm trying to figure out a good, compact, camcorder to buy myself for christmas.

if anyone has any experiance with ones between $300 and $400 let me know.

i'm looking for something that, obviously takes good quality video, has a decent battery life, and is small enough that its not a burden to carry around.

Compared to the old bulky VHS camcorders, I don't think the difference in sizes among most of those presently on the market should be that important of a consideration, unless you absolutely feel you need to be able to carry it in a shirt pocket or something.
