Best Buy: Your inventory system sucks

I know everyone here hates BB but I never had any bad experiences with them before til now. Anyways I was looking for this particular car cd changer which some of the other B&M stores had too but was actually more expensive than BB. I could of ordered online but I wanted it by this weekend so I could have it put in.

On BB's site I searched to see which store had them in stock but it reported that the stores by my workplace and the 2 near my house did not have any in stock. The cloeset one it gave was 30miles from my house. I decided to make the drive later today to pick one up but thought I'd give the store near my workplace a shot. So during my lunch I headed out there and surprisingly they had one, saving me from making that long drive.

Most store-based inventory systems are as of previous night's inventory. Maybe they received those changers the same day you were there?
 
sucks, juts beh appy they did have one, this isn't a bad thing its a good thing. They had something they said they didn't. At least you didn't drive to the other store, and find out they didn't have one...
 
Perhaps their online inventory will show the item as sold out if they have only a couple of that item left. That way, they won't get pissed off customers yelling at them and saying that their online site showed stock if they happen to run out.
 
i've always had the opposite problem. ordered online to pickup in store, get an email back saying they don't have it or can't find it.

I swear to god. Any time anyone complains about anything on this board someone plays the waaaaamulance card.

STFU. He didn't say it was the end of the world, he was mildly annoyed that something didn't work right.

Same goes for the idiots in the thread where the kid wanted his computer parts before X-mas.

Now, if someone whines in a 20 page rant abut how they had to wair 5 minutes for the elevator and the world owes them payback, then you can complain.
