I would have kicked my ass too. I don't blame any of you for thinking I'm a pussy when it comes to this situation. Hell, I think I've been a puss too.

no you dont understand... they are fucking you over... even if they DO give you a new TV:
1. They are still gonna waste your time.
2. They are still making money off of that sale!

You should return the TV for a refund and buy from SOMEONE ELSE on principle... that way they LOOSE money (restocking, etc, well, make less when they sell it to someone else as new) and not gain from your future purchases.

Seriously are you really asking for advice or trying to bait people? I seriously cannot believe someone would be... you know what, I just thought about beaten wifes and revised my opinion.

I am sorry that some emotional trauma makes you so easy to abuse.. but please understand that what they are doing to you is not right or normal. You should not take it and they should be punished for it. Please do not even talk to the manager. When they ask you why you want to return tell them it is your business and it is not up for discussion. (and when the bring up the fact that the remote is not original neither is the cord yell at them and tell them it is what came with the TV... and sue them if they still charge you a restocking fee... and contest the charge with your bank)

Please break the cycle of abuse...

This is why I will never buy from Best Buy. I've gotten screwed over, my brother-in-law has as well. My mother got screwed over hard from Geek Squad as they destroyed the pins on the bottom of the P4 Northwood and lied, claiming it was the PSU and motherboard that were bad. So there are idiots and cheats working there...wanting to charge her $700 to replace those parts when it was just the CPU that they destroyed on their own. Absolutely disgusting customer service and I'll never go there again. I'd report them to the Better Business Bureau but I don't want to waste my time. Instead I will remove myself from shopping there for the rest of my life.

I'm pretty bitter with my grudges too. Wendy's screwed me over about 8 years ago with a burned to a black crisp hamburger and cold, hard fries. I have never went to another Wendy's ever again since then. The franchise has lost this customer for life.

my buddy worked at geeksquad. He said the only thing they ever trained him to do was to rack up fake charges... and then "queitly, under the table" offer to the customer that it would be cheaper to buy a new computer (while pointing across the isle to where the sell them).... and let them "take care" of the "broken" one... (which was usually just spam laden and needed a reformat). He usually got several of these a day...

The employees had access to so much free computers they didn't know what to do with them... usually they had to throw them away because they didnt want to get in trouble with corporate (they are supposed to convince the customer to buy a new computer and trash the perfectly good old one.. not keep it, because then the fraud is too obvious)

I am so pissed off right now for two reasons. That fact that I'm being taken advantage of, and the fact that I'm letting it happen.

It feels like my head is on fire. "

You're getting fucked. You're happy that you are getting fucked. You think that if you just look away your getting fucked won't be happening anymore.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

1) Refund
2) No refund? Notify your credit card company and dispute charge on card and leave set at BB.
3) Buy for less from amazon

DUDE! You're getting the run around. The bait and switch. Call your credit card company stat, tomorrow, AM. They're gonna delay you past their obligation and at that point their hands are wiped clean.

If they don't have the new one for you on the 23rd, then you call your CC company and dispute the charge. You paid for a NEW TV, they gave you a USED TV. You will have no problem at all getting them to take your side.

In fact I'd tell BB you're going to do that and if they still refuse to do it, take the TV home and then Dispute the charge. Then you get a free TV out of it. Tell BB if they want it back they can come and get it.

That's what I'd do anyway.

Uhhh...get it in writing that the manager guarantees you a new set or all your money back. But yeah, you're setting yourself up to be screwed.

How much did you pay for it? Unless you got a spectacular deal it's not worth the hassle.
You should've just returned it on the spot.

How does that work from Amazon? Does UPS/Fedex come and drop it off? Or is it a different company that handles fragile and oversized items?

they use a shipping company called Eagle. they're supposed to bring it into your house and unpack it for you. we'll see how it goes. I've read a lot of good reports.

I understand why some of you have replies like this. I asked for advice, went to BB with the set and left without a new one. The "funny" thing is, I feel the same way about myself. I never thought I'd be talked into leaving without my new set.

Anyway, the constructive criticism in this thread has woken me up. I'm not usually one to be taken advantage of -- at all.

Oh, happy birthday Neuro! :gift:

If you buy all that from amazon it's the same price, plus if you want to you could pay no tax: $1989 + xbox elite $449 + halo 3 $60 = $2498

At BB TV $2199 + XBOX $299 = $2498
