seconded. I wouldn't pay over $500 for anything used besides a car. I take good care of my shit and don't trust anyone else with it. And I damn well wouldnt want someones used electronics.

Hmm...try taking it to another Best Buy in your area. Or, go back to that Best Buy and ask to be taken in the back to see that the remaining stock are not returns so that you can verify for yourself.

IMO you should call their corporate people and report these a-holes regardless. They're not even adhering to corporate policy.

did you ask to talk to a manager?

Yeah in hindsight I wish I hadn't waited this long. The only reason why I did was I had no access to a vehicle large enough to do the exchange. Also, it was a total pain in the butt getting this thing into my condo, and getting it all set up.

Yeah I talked to the manager and he told me I'd have to pay the difference.

$19.95 for a short term rental in most places...most of the time you won't have to even put gas in it as the gauge won't move...even if it was $50 total...small price to pay for the tv.

Things that don't make sense though are how the box looked factory sealed and if not were you buying a floor/demo sale model and just didn't know that.

The thing is now being 3 weeks it's a used set no matter what.

I don't get into the exploit warranty game, but is the 30 day warranty a no-questions asked one or is it based on defects?

A lot here were all for Costco's electronics 'free upgrade' plan which I thought was BS and I know it has costed all of us more in the store. Now they pulled it which sucks for the guy with the legitimate reason to need it.

Many LCD/plasma warranties become worthless as the costs to ship and pack negate using them...being able to just bring the bad set to a local place was a big plus.

Just got home from BB.

After all the crap I went through to secure my buddy's truck, I was hoping something positive would happen tonight. Boy was I wrong. Upon arriving at BB, I was told they didn't have the set in stock. Now I *know* this is a lie because not only did the store manager say they had them, I checked the availability prior to leaving my place and they showed as IN STOCK.

But anyway, whatever, because I planned on returning it anyway if they didn't exchange it for a NEW set. It just irked me that they'd blatantly lie to me like this.

I let him know I changed my mind and I now wanted to return it. It was only at this point where they started to take me seriously. Now I'm not sure how this happened, but the manager convinced me to NOT return it. After basically keeping me in limbo until the store closed as he "looked in to it", I was finally told they'd have a BRAND NEW replacement in on 10/23, which coincidentally is the LAST day I can return or exchange it.

So basically if something happens and the set isn't in by the 23rd, I'm fvcked, and this time it'll be my fault.

I am so pissed off right now for two reasons. That fact that I'm being taken advantage of, and the fact that I'm letting it happen.

It feels like my head is on fire. :|

Anything after this is just your fault. You should have just returned the set and been done with those assholes. The fact that he kept you waiting until closing just shows that they are fucking with you.

you should have gotten them to deliver one when they got in and let them take this one now. It's pretty much going to be hanging on you if you get stuck with the old one.

Yup, and are you sure you know what they mean by 30 day period? You sure that the 23rd won't be the 30th day or some such BS and they claim you have to do it BEFORE the 30th day? Thus really being 29?

You should have just returned it ... seriously, wtf is going through your mind? I got the wrong set from CC, called and explained, and they DELIVERED the correct set and picked up the wrong one. You're getting taken, and screwed with a balsa wood dildo.

Call corporate and let them know whats going on and that the store keep giving you the runaround. Tell them if they cant provide you with a new tv when they pick up the used tv you will do a chargeback.

BB sucks, well documented fact, what were you thinking??????

Although this does remind me a bit when I had a problem with a TV I ordered from BB. I arranged for them to come out and pick it out, idiots working actually brought a new one out to the house. I opened the door and saw them lower it from the truck and start tearing down the packaging and had at least 10 seconds of inner turmoil on whether or not I could get away with getting a free TV :D

I agree, I went soft. I had every intention of returning it but I just went soft. :(

The reason I bought this set at BB in the first place was I got a pretty decent combo deal. I got Halo 3 for free, an Xbox360 Elite for $299 and the set itself for $2199.

That's the only reason why I still have the set at this point. I'll ban myself from AT if I don't have a new set or my money back by the 23rd. :)

Meh, I'd get refund. If refund isn't honored then I'd call credit card company. I would literally leave the TV with bestbuy and clearly state that I need a refund.

Then I'd order it online. Problem solved.

You probably would have still been able to keep Halo.

I would have let the expletives fly. You have too much tolerance. Call an complain to corporate, right a letter, file a complaint with the BBB and return the damned TV and buy it somewhere else!

You're an idiot with no balls what so ever.

Listen, RETURN THE FREAKING SET IDIOT. Then use the money to purchase the set somewhere else or when they get another in stock.

Damn dude, are you seriously this stupid?

Ok, BB is fucking you over... thats established...

Option 1. Bend over and spread it
Option 2. Return the TV for a refund immidiately and buy from someone else.

This is a pretty easy choice... If you choose 1 I will be laughing at you and having no sympathy. Don't choose option 1.
Also, selling a used TV as new (and for several G) is fraudulent and illigal... you should be raising hell not bending over.

PS. No really, choosing option 1 is a REALLY bad idea, choose option 2.

Believe it or not, I'm not stupid. I know that may be hard to believe judging from my BB story. In this particular case I've just been a pushover, but I've had enough of BB messing with me.

I *will* have a new TV, or my money back by Tuesday.
