Best Buy to eliminate MIR by 2007.

I never buy anything with rebates, like throwing $$$ out the window and you are lucky if the check does make it to you

Awesome read! Although Best Buy is planning to eliminate rebates, it still doesn't redeem their reputation in my books.

I tried a rebate at TD once, the company should be shut down and all the execs put in jail.

BB isn't too bad if you use it like I do, a place to get an emergency equipment at 8pm on a sunday.

Your BB is open until 8PM? I think mine closes at 6! =/

you apparently suck at filling out the rebate form. i sent in $2,300 worth of rebates after black friday and got back every penny. that also wasnt the first time ive sent in a massive number of rebates. the only one ive ever been screwed on is a video card from TD, and that was before it was widely known that they are scumbags.

The only time I buy a product with a rebate is if I was going to buy the product anyway without the rebate. In other words, if I can afford to lose the "bonus" rebate money. I know some people have good luck with them, but I'm not buying a $50 hard drive for $100 with a $75 rebate. Because that rebate may never come back even with a lot of arm twisting, and I'd rather not loan them $75 for 3 months anyway.

You want to compete on price...then lower your fvcking prices!

how can TD screw you from a rebate?

Isn't that illegal?

What the hell did they say when you demanded your rebate money?

I guess its just me but I've never had a single problem with rebates. I've had 5-6 of them on my new computer pruchases in the last 6 months or so.

2 rebates on a Motorola SB cable modem bought from CC, 1 rebate from Circuit City and one from Motorola
2 Logitech rebates, one on my 5.1 speaker setup and one on my MX510.
1 rebate on a Creative Audigy2 Card
1 rebate from EVGA on a motherboard, videocard bundle

Those are just the rebates I can remember from the recent past, and I know for sure I got everyone of them and cashed them all too. Oh and I bought a new phone from Verizon and got that rebate too
