+1, only time i go there anymore is when i want to look at something in person before i buy it on amazon. this might be the final nail in the coffin to them going out of business. somebody should make a death watch thread for them or turn this thread into that :biggrin:Not an issue for me since I don't shop at BB any more. Amazon FTW even with tax.
Additionally, multiple sources are saying that Best Buy will also be dropping its post-purchase price-matching policy on March 3
Interesting, as this seems to already be in effect. I bought a Lenovo Tablet on Thursday, took it home and was doing some post-purchase research. I found the same tablet listed on Newegg, Amazon, and Office Depot for $70 less. I went back to the store on Friday (yesterday) to get the price match. At first the kid handling the transaction said it was no problem, and mentioned that he did not have enough cash in the drawer to cover the refund. So he got a manager to do a cash transfer to his register. The manager came over and took my receipt and paperwork and promptly went to her office. She returns 10 minutes later and tells the kid to tell me that they couldn't do the price match because the matched price for the tablet was less than their cost. WTF ever! I told them no problem, you can just give me all the money back then, and I went to my car and returned with the tablet unopened. Thankfully there is an Office Depot not too far from the BB, and I was able to purchase the same tablet at the discounted price. Will never shop at BB again.

Prime rules. The Instant video service is worth the costs annually, by itself. Throw in 2 day shipping on any prime qualified product (often used too) and it is a seriously great value. The shipping kills Amazon unless you have $25 in qualified stuff. I have to save up a few items to buy when I use Amazon sometimes.
One good thing about being here at AT for so long:i didnt run to amazon
but the problems with bb from mypov
*warehouse motif,angry,90s,i dont enjoy beingin there its fucking depressing
*employees ofc guess via training or some metric they use to hire, they should call em the alienation squad
*prices horrid
*tired logo, remind me of zayres taking their 70s logo into the 80s
One good thing about being here at AT for so long:
I can instantly recognize one of your posts by the writing style and know instinctively that it's not worth trying to read and to skip right on by it.
I would have opened it before I returned it. They want to dick people around and say that perfectly legit price matches aren't valid, they can deal with an open box return.
Had that happen at staples with an ipad at Xmas. Bought it on the 24th, 27th it went on sale at staples for $70 off. They wouldn't price adjust, they didn't have any other 64gb models so I opened it in front of them and then refunded it and went to bestbuy and bought one for the same price staples had.
This was expected. You will also see their sale items being old stock and, just not great prices for the next 6 months. Why you ask? Due to the overwhelming $150 and $200 gift cards that Time Warner Cable have been giving out to each new cable subscriber, Best Buy, who sold these cards to Time Warner for $50 and $75 each need to recoop profit and raise their prices. Their stores is already being hit with these Time Warner gift cards and people will be purchasing things just to get rid of these gift cards. My suggestion: If you have a Time Warner gift card, spend it on a same item. If you don't have a Time Warner gift card, you can get a better sale price pretty much anywhere else.
There's an update posted: Still 15 day return policy, but supposedly Best Buy will begin price matching pre-tax online prices of retailers, including Amazon, Newegg and Frys.com:

That would be an excellent move, but you still have to deal with your local Best Buy staff.
