Best Buy return policy

I'm guessing if I post this in the Hot Deals forum it'd get locked up pretty quick. Anyways just curious as to what the return policy is like over at Best Buy. As in do you need a receipt or will they give you store credit like they do at Toys R Us and Walmart if you don't have a receipt?
 
I remember from somewhere that you can have 2 returns a year without a reciept, like in the case of bad gifts in which case they would give you store credit. I could be wrong though.
 
Uhh, I went to return a gift without receipt and the lady refused right away, and she said they had no way of knowing if it was bought from best buy, and it was my first return. Talk about limit of 2 per year, wtf?
 
What about video game consoles like Dreamcast or PS One? Or electronic keyboards?

Yakko: Thanks for the link. I was looking for the in-store return policy though, not the online one. I seriously doubt I can return stuff online without a receipt.
 
Through the 25th of this month you do not need a recipt, as long as they carry it and it is un-opened. You can only get credit with out a recipt, cash if you have one. I have used the gift ploy everywhere and only a few places ever refuse. No big deal you come back another day when a new person is working. I have some old DVD's that I never opened, time to get to best buy!!!

Crashedout: Thanks, that's the answer I was looking for. I was pretty sure they had a special holiday gift return policy, just needed to know what it was.
