Best Buy return policy

I went to the best buy site to check up on their return policy for DVD's. my sister had bought me a dvd for christmas, but i already have it so i have to go in to exchange it. thing is, i dont have the receipt, and there are no best buy tags or anything of the sort on the dvd. it is still unopened. so just wondering if i can get store credit for it still. the faq section says you need a receipt for a refund, but store credit will be fine. anyone help me out on this? dont want to go to best buy unless i have to.

After christmas they will give you credit for unopened movies without a receipt. Im not sure how long after christmas though.

yea, they did say something about january 24th, but nothing on the no receipt part.

If they don't, take it to Wal-Mart, they will return it without a receipt.
