I just picked up a Radeon 32MB DDR at Best Buy for $199. I thought this was a great deal even without the $50 mail-in rebate, but I got an extra thrill when I saw that the sticker on the box said $279!!

Later I checked out the Radeon FAQ and saw this:

<start clip>
Q6: What is the estimated street price?

A6:
The 64MB DDR version of RADEON? will have an estimated street price of $349.00 USD.
The 32MB DDR version of RADEON? will have an estimated street price of $279.00 USD.
The 32MB SDR version of RADEON? will have an estimated street price of $199.00 USD.
<end clip>

Could it be possible that whoever entered the 32MB DDR into the Best Buy sales system possibly confused it for the SDR?

If you want one of these hotties, I wouldn't wait around to find out! ;)

It is a damn good deal for a DDR card. I don't know if it was a nationwide pricing error or just ATI trying to gain some retail market share in the high-performance video card segment. This is good pricing because nVidia will be pressured to lower prices. I am considering keeping mine, even though I have Win2K. Mine is still new in the box, but I can't install it for a week. I don't get to go home and play games much, since I work on the road. :(

I don't think it is a mistake, as I just bought one at Fry's Electronics for $200 -$50 rebate = $150. This 32MB DDR Radeon beats the crap out of GeForce MX!
