Best Buy pricematch?

I'm going to try to get Bestbuy B&M to pricematch an online price. Anyone been able to successfully do this?

I have a question though. Does anyone ever remember when BB used to pricematch and then take 10% off the final price ?

They'll do itthey dont have to...but they will I promise you Worked there for too long and know their policies.I havent worked there for since november and now that their .com is more "competitive" they may have changed that.If you talk to a manager just emphasize you want to give them your business.They wont turn you down.

Jmorison, they didnt take 10 percent of the total price

they're supposed to take 10 percent of the DIFFERENCE.

So if staples has X model for 199 and Best buy has it for 209 and they price match they'll take an additional dollar off.

But this wont apply w/ the .com since they dont have to match it. If you talk to any manager, I guarantee they have a million better things to do and DO NOT want to talk to you...so be persistant and you'll get what you want any time.

I remember that to match circuit city's pm policy, BB started to take 10% of the final price. Now, this was a few years ago, and I was told by a manager about a year ago (lets call this the quake incident) that they no longer did this. He said he had never heard of it, but according to his badge he had been there for under a year.

Some stores do it by accident because the people doing the pricematch are idiots

think about it.

an item is 1000 dollars at best buy...but someone else has it for 900...they'll pricematch to 900 but do you think they're going to take off another 90 dollars ? no! they're not going to lose money

again, some stores do this and people did it at my store ALL THE DAMN time because they cant read.

in the past, bb b&m could not pricematch with wholesaler/warehouse stores like priceclub/costcos/or bj's. they usually package their own weird computer deals, but a printed add for the same model now works.

Well, I've had a good experience with BB price match about a year back.

BTW, before I get into that, let me confirm that until middle of last year... BB DID have a 110% price match gaurantee... I've used it and it worked well.

Now what happens at BB and sometimes at Circuit city is that since these guys have the "buying Power" they DIRECT their vendors to make specially marked models for them. I bought a SAMSUNG 27" TV about a year back from BB. I happened to spot the same TV in CC for about $40 less. NOw when I went back to BB for a price match, those guys were so confrontational from the beginning. They pointed out that the model # did not match. The model no. of the BB TV had a T in the end. However, none of them could identify a single difference in features between the TV at CC and BB. I spoke with their respective branch managers and even they couldn't do a thing. Later, a friend (whose father is a district sales manager at one of the BBs) told me that this was a "tricky" policy at BB. For high priced items, they ask specially marked model nos. from their vendors and so they can get out of this price matching issue. I took this matter up with their store managers and by threatening them of legal action, got my 110% of the difference.

Since then BB is out of my evoked set...always.

Hope you enjoy pricematching at BB though.

ok here is how bby works


1st . The mangers are push over's as long as you talk clamly and dont swear and dont leave 95% of the time you will get your way

Their is a few expections thought

1. Is their psp they hate to give a psp money back so they do anything so that doesnt happen .
2. They wont match any kind of internet sites for price match

If you havent bought the item :
The will just price it an compettitor


IF you have :


They will match it to the competitors price and then 10% of differance . As the mangers say " Its a way of saying thank you for chosing bby "
