Best Buy Online Trade-In Service

Apparently Best Buy now has an online video game trade-in service, similar to what Amazon.com offers. This is in addition to the kiosks introduced in stores throughout Texas (for now).

1. ESTIMATE
Use the Estimator to receive an instant estimate of your trade-in value on video games or consoles.

2. PRINT/SHIP
Print a prepaid shipping label and ship your items to our trade-in center.

3. GIFT CARD!
A Best Buy gift card will be mailed to you about 7 to 14 days after receipt of your item.

Best Buy Trade-In

I wonder what Best Buy will be doing with all of these used games. Start selling them in local stores? Just online? Sell them through/to a third-party?

Huh, not bad. I should call up gamestop and see if the trade ins are much better. Just for an example of the few games I checked:

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (360) - $21.00
Fallout 3 (360) - $25.00
Gears of War 2 - $12.00

Here's something interesting I saw too:
Halo 3 (regular edition)- $17.00
Halo 3 - Limited Edition - $12.00
Halo 3 - Legendary Edition - $15.00

Not sure how they figure their trade in prices, but I assume it's semi-automated based on how many people have sold games. So they might have gotten a metric fuck ton of the legendary and limited editions already. Or somebody fucked up.

^ LOL, they'll pay you $2 not to give them the Halo helmet 🙂

Trade in your Fallout 3 now, then get the GOATY edition with all of the DLC included in a few months.

Yeah the Saints Row 2 LE is $12 but the standard edition is $16. 😕 You have to pay them to take that junk.

Hmmm... that's wouldn't be a bad idea but was there anything official about a full DLC GOTY edition in the next few months.

Yes, it comes out in October.

A Fallout 3 Game of the Year edition will be available in October. It will include the original game plus all five add-ons for $59.99 for Xbox 360 and PS3, and $49.99 for PC.

Dammit! I am hoping that they will put out a discounted DLC pack.

Nice, thanks for the info

Even though BB's trade in values are very competitive, they have no BONUS offers.

Gamestop is running a bonus where if you trade in 6 games, you get a 50% boost.
Amazon has a trade in offer where if you trade in $60 worth of games, you get $30 off any game.

Both those offers make Gamestop and Amazon the preferred place to trade in.
