Best Buy has never carried any "enthusiast" type of audio/video. I went a few months ago to look at 65"+ tvs and was told they didn't carry them.

They just opened another section catering to nicer displays and some decent audio video. I was actually impressed. They had the samsung, mits and sony 70" TVs and they were setup decently well and I was able to play with the remote to see the TVs capabilities/menus.

They also carried Martin Logans lowest speaker line, but hey it's a start. The sony SXRD projector looked good as did the big samsung LCD. They didn't have the 65" plasma I'm looking for. :(

Eitherway, it's a nice step in the right direction. The logans were setup/positioned well. However they were powered by a denon receiver. :(

oh come on. I've got one and I like it.

But it's amps are not enough to be running those speakers off it.

You're kidding right? I don't know about their sub $1k receivers but their higher end models have always had glowing reviews.

I think the sarcasm was evident from the  guy.

Still, the MLs would benefit from some better stuff driving them.

Are you talking about this plasma by chance? If it is and you have the funds, I wouldn't settle for anything less. AMAZING display and has gotten great reviews.

Edit: Ah, never mind. I see that was sarcasm. My meter needs to be calibrated again.

Heh, I ran my beasts off of a 3802 just for fun. It shut it down in a heartbeat.

I could hear clipping at -20 db. ;) Receiver basically pulled a WTFBBQPROTECT

That's the one. But I need to see it and put it throgh the paces so to speak.

SO was looking around with me. She's kind of gotten accustomed to what nice video looks like. She pointed to one of the displays in the "special room" commenting on how good the color was and asked why. "because it's a plasma". I'm so proud of her budding videophileness.
