Anyone had their order lost before ?

Used a GC + CC and they can't find my order.

Thank goodness I printed by the last page after check out. If I didn't, they wouldn't even have a record of me using the GC or anything. Currently balance is $0 :(

This is the first time anything like this ever happened.

I just returned something to Amazon through the mail, was a $150 textbook, and apparently, it got lost in the mail. They still gave me a refund though, so will buy again.

Somehow I get the feeling that it got lost in their return warehouse, and someone just forgot to credit my account...

That's pretty crazy as most retail stores can track purchases made with just the credit card number. I wonder if their system was how Circuit City's use to be in which you had to change store location to look up online purchases.

I remember a few new people would tell customers they couldn't find their ticket but they really just didn't know how to use the system the right way.

BTW checked my credit card. They already charged me for it

Was the actual charge or the authorization?

It's possible for the system to loose an order this time of year with the high volume of transactions. Having worked in development in the online, catalog and retail industry, it happens no matter what platform you are on. Saw an issue earlier this year where we sent customers duplicate orders through Amazon, though we only charged them once. Customers don't seem to complain when it benefits them LOL.

It's definitely gone from the GC and the CC shows processing.
They forwarded it to Order Inquiries dept or something.
Should get a response from them in 24-48 hours. I will have to raise hell afterwards

I have saw dup orders but never orders that just disappear. Or if the order does disappear, the charge would be gone too. There is always a trail to track down. Its simply a matter of getting someone who knows the system well enough to be able to not only look at what is there but also what is missing.

Bottom line is that the OP should at least get his money back. Unless the deal he is talking about was a price mistake. In that case he could be out of luck.

The authorization can last upwards of 7 days depending on the bank. As the OP stated, it shows Processing which means that the charge hasn't been processed yet. Though, I agree that the order probably isn't lost, but may appear that way in the POS. Eventually it will get to IBM support and they will have to dig through the database.

yeah, he posted that while I was posting. If its still in limbo, then who knows.

IIRC, they don't put the charge through on a CC until the item ships but the GC gets charged right away. So either there was a mixup in the order process or the order got cancelled/delayed because the item was out of stock. My money is on the latter.

Hopefully that's not the case.

It's actually against the FTC regulations to charge the customer until the product ships.

F'ing best buy doesn't have any more info. Their suggestion was that it's been escalated to the order inquiries dept and all I can do is wait for them to find out.

Time to file a complaint with BBB and FTC

hey guys it's really sad that there aren't more BM stores. I placed a pickup order, which means I wait at the CS line. LOL at 5 returns before me, 30 min later I get to the front and they tell me they can't find my pickup order. 15 min of searching. I say fck it, go look for the item on the shelves and check out. Something that takes 5 min and they take 45 without a resolution. Their CS is the worst I've ever seen but I have few options here with regards to BM shops.

We cancelled an order from Overstock. The status shows "return completed" except that we haven't been credited back on our card. The item instead was actually shipped out, got all the on to the local truck for delivery. Package was mysteriously refused though they never came to our door. What did they try to deliver a cancelled order to the wrong fucking house or something?! Now it's on its way back to Overstock.

I've printed out each of my CC statement, Order details and Tracking info in case we're forced to execute a chargeback.

I hate when stores fuck things up.

Holey $^@* Best Buy stock went down 15% today after bad quarterly numbers that included Black Friday.

Makes me wonder if lobbyists from Best Buy and other B&M stores are working hard to enforce taxes for online-only vendors like Amazon and Newegg.

You bought something from Best Buy lol!

Yet another reason I rarely ever shop at "Best Buy". That printer has been replaced by a Pixma MG5220 middle July this year.
They couldn't sell it at their regular price before and dumping an older model as a "Black Friday" item.

Guess how much I paid a few weeks before BF. :hmm:
