Got the 710+ before when it was on sale. Quite a different keyboard if you haven't used one before but I have no complaints (may be odd in the office if you are a 80wpm typer as it could be louder than normal). Not sure what the exact difference between the models are though.

I replaced the key caps with PBT caps, and boy what a difference it made in typing feel!!!! I can't wait until they get metallic zinc back lit keycaps! Those must feel awesome!!!!

Please explain for those uninitiated in the mechanical keyboard master race?

PBT is a harder plastic that until recently was typically dye-sub printed or laser etched for symbols. Recently there have been sets produced in double-shot (symbol/legend is a separately produced piece that the cap is molded around).

PBT is often done with a mold that produces a thicker heavier keycap, and PBT itself has a different feel than ABS (standard caps). Due to PBTs hardness any texture on the cap lasts longer and it takes longer for your fingers to polish them (lots longer).

Examples of keycap sets in all (and more) of the mentioned plastic processes.

Isn't the G710 really loud, and the G710+ slightly less loud?
This is the most annoying thing about mechanical keyboards, if you type fast, they sound like a machine gun going off...

Yep, G710+ has brown switches that are similar to blue, just single click instead of two

Wah? Blue switches have a mechanical device in the switch that clicks "loud" as you press down, "softly" as you release. There is also the bottom-out thunk of pressing the key cap all the way down which Logitech tries to mitigate by adding rubber o-rings (I think all G710 models have them).

Brown has no mechanical device for noise, just a lump on the 'shaft' that is pressing against the switch leaf-spring. This gives the tactile feeling, and without the additional mechanical clicky device they are quieter, except in the case of smashing the key cap down and the thunk as it bottoms out.

If you want noisy, go get a buckling spring KB from unicomp :D

Yes, devil is in the details, each switch has unique properties. But generally blue and brown are similar, just brown makes less noise.

I have 2 keyboards with blue, and one with brown. I have to say brown is my personal favorite.
