Best Buy has 0% financing through January 2010 on HDTV and home theater

It's in the weekly ad. If you view it online, you can see it there.

It's no interest until January 2010, not through 2010. Still, pretty good deal. Three years interest free is pretty nice. That Mitsubishi 73" HDTV is calling my name 😀

Edit: $999 minimum purchase required.

Be careful that this is not a DEFERRED interest deal. Also watch out that you don't miss a payment, which may nullify the deal. Personally, I'd rather not have this hanging over me for 3+ years!

It is true 0% IF you make the payments on time. If you miss a payment they charge interest from the beginning.

It says if you dont pay off the full amount by Jan 2010, then the full interst will apply.

I'm guessing it means all the interest that accrued from the purchase date to 2010 ?

that is exactly what this means.

Now what I'm wondering is, how much financing charges there will be per month... lets say on a $2000 dollar balance.

I'm guessing at least 20% APR because it's a store card.

It's alot, for people who cant handle making a simple monthly payment should not do this. Cause it will be alot, actually $824.77 if it's a 24% APR (which is average for store cards) with $2000 over 36 months. So you miss a payment and it is no small thing.

I just logged into my BB card account to check, mine's listed @ 22.65%.

Needless to say it's only use is for deals like this.

Viper GTS

This is great if you are disciplined enough to pay monthly on time... or if you don't intend to live until 2010. Then it's hot.

None, as long as it is payed on time, and payed off by 2010.

$0 per month.

You must make at least one payment a month or you lose the 0% APR and get royally screwed.

As long as it's paid off in full by 2010 you will pay $0 finance charges.

Assuming you have 3 years to payoff your TV (1/1/07 to 12/31/09) on a $2,000 balance you should pay $55.56 per month. Your minimum monthly payment might be $20 which could trick some people. What if you only paid the minimum $20 per month through 2010? Since your balance isn't paidoff in full you would owe interest.

Nice,
Maybe i'll get in on it.

I kinda wanna make the jump.. and couldn't get one from Best buy during black friday.
Lines were insanely long 🙁.

Not to mention I still got $270 GC that needs to be spent.

Since you have $270 in GC's I would buy it during the 0% promo. Just make sure to make at least your minimum payment every month and pay it off in full before 2010.

Which model(s) are you considering?

Very easy to pay monthly if you do online banking. Just set your account to automatically send in a payment once a month in the amount that you would need to pay it off completely after 3 years. That is what I've done on previous 0% interest deals.

Just don't make a habit of grabbing every 0% interest deal that rolls around. Then you end up nickeling and dime-ing yourself to death.
