I have heard a lot of bad things about bestbuy's online store. just check anandtech's ratings, they are horrible. i seem to remember reseller ratings having a low rating on bestbuy.com as well. i wouldn't order from them even though i buy stuff from the B&M all the time.

I bought some Fuji CD-R's from BB online, and they shipped them to me in a box w/ VERY little padding

The box was huge too, so you could feel the spindles rolling from one side to another

OTOH, I bought some spindles from Newegg, and they were individually wrapped in bubble wrap.....and placed in a box completely full of styrofoam peanuts

Don't waste your time with Bestbuy Online.... there is a high chance they will mess up processing your order and if they do ship the item out it is usually packed very pathetically.

I've only ordered from them once, and I don't plan to do it again. I'm sure the ground shipping is the same as the cheap ass one I picked. The item I ordered was in stock, and they didn't ship it for 4 days. Once it shipped, it took almost 2 weeks to get to me. Ridiculous!

iamme, I always get my spindle of CD-Rs in huge boxes from different e-tailers (OfficeMax, Staples, etc.), but they do ship on time. They are packed exactly like what you said, "you could feel the spindles rolling from one side to another". What padding, i get 1-2 air-filled plastic bags paddings or cushions, nothing else. Oh, the invoice is also the padding, all crumbled up!!!!!!!!

You are lucky since you got your Fuji CD-Rs. As of today, July 24, 2002, i have not received my 100pk of Fuji CD-Rs from slow-snailed BestBuy.com which claim they shipped on the 16th. Not only is this bad, the damn tracking number provided @ Best Buy.com -> My Account -> order status DOES NOT work.

Bestbuy.com sucks. Their shipping sucks. However, they do a good job with fulfilling rebate claims.

Here is another bad experience with BestBuy.com. Two in a roll in the same month:

Ordered a spindle of Verbatim 50pk 80min 700MB CD-Rs Link to Thread (deal is over by the way, dont bother buying it) last week. Today, i received an email telling me that it is on backorder and they can't forfill this order. They tell me to call customer service and cancel it.

Oh well, saved me some money@!!!!!!!!

Doh...I ordered some Fuji CD-Rs from them a couple weeks back with ground shipping and still haven't received them. The tracking number doesn't work. Hopefully they'll show up soon in decent condition. I can't imagine that USPS could possibly break a spindle of CD-Rs, they're pretty strong. But, who knows...
