Best Buy exchange policy

My Plextor DVDRW that I bought at the end of NOV 2004 is no longer working. Best Buy wont exchange it due to my 30 days are up after purchasing it. Anyone ever have any luck negotiating an exchange for the same product after your 30 days are up?

After 30 days they are under no obligation to exchange it unless you got one of their "service plans". Otherwise, to the manufacturer you go.

Thanks. I asked this to a guy I work with , and he laughed and said he had a problem with a dvd home player, and he went and bought it again, put the defective one in the box, and said he wants to return it. What a nerd. Have to dig up plextors number, sigh.

Yep unless the manfacuturers warranty has expired and you purchased an extended warranty plan.

You know you can get banned for suggesting this...
