I didn't have it, but saw the twitter feed. Whole lot of people unhappy with Best Buy - they just cancelled all signups and renewals without warning.

Rumor is it has to do with pressure from publishers on discounting, but one, the fact anyone is still paying close to list seems like a plus for the industry, and two, they did not announce it well.

Have to think this is going to hurt Best Buy even more - there seemed to be a lot of people using it as a primary source for games and buying other things from Best Buy at the store because of the games.

I can't remember the last time I bought anything at bestbuy. Surprises they are still around tbh.

Best buy is pretty popular. I only shop there when I need something now and I can't wait for an online order. When it comes to TV's I always buy from best buy. Their return policy is great.

They price match too which includes items sold from the amazon warehouse so I have gotten quite a few deals at Best Buy.

I've purchased quite a few games from Best Buy and this is the first I've ever heard of a game membership.

Yeah, the Amazon deal is not long for this world either. Things started going bad for PC Preorders last year, namely companies weren't selling retail disc versions or even retail boxes with just the code in them.

I'm surprised at the number of people here who hadn't heard of the program. I was a member of GCU (Gamer's Club Unlocked) and it was a no-brainer - payback was less than 3 games and in some cases, even less as certain games were 20% off and you got a $10 coupon for your next purchase.

I don't go into Best Buy's physical stores very often, but they occasionally have some very good deals posted on Slickdeals and I do take advantage of these deals.

Amazon's 20% for pre-orders was the only way I bought new games. Mostly I'll hold off for games until they gone on sale but few games, I'll risk the pre-order.
