Is anyone here a Best Buy employee?

I'm trying to find out the employee price for the Sony SA-WM500 Subwoofer. They're selling it for $199. Thanks

a bit of a tangent, but one time a friend and i were at best buy buying some DVDs. When he was at the checkout the checker told him the price, and my friend said "is that with the discount?" the employee said "the discount?" and my friend said "the discount". Anyway, he got the employee discount without being an employee.

The cashier was an idiot then. In order to get the discount they need to enter in the purchaser's employee number.

You are a moron. If you want the discount, get a job there. The discount is for family members and the employee only.

Back in 98-99 it was cost plus 5% and it still is on most items.

Is there a limit on their purchase? Like is 5-10grand over the limit at the discount?

They cashier puts in your employee number, and then the employees NAME will pop up and it will say Ask them for an ID.

No limit, but they will question mass purchases.

And they do keep track of all employee purchases at all stores. The system automatically flags you and you are put under "watch" when you start spending alot of money there.
