Silky: I didn't see anything worthwhile on CD-RWs. Doesn't mean there aren't any, but nothing that I would call a Hot Deal.

Here's some more stuff from the ad. I live by Chicago and we get the Sunday paper with the ads on Sat also.

I/O Magic internal CD-RW drive, 8X4X32, $159.99 - $30 mail in rebate = $129 eventually if you ever get the rebate

PNY 50 pack of 12X 80 minute CD-R's $17.99 - $10 mail in rebate = $7.99 eventually if you ever get the rebate

That was all that jumped out at me.

Does anyone know the quality of the PNY CD-R's? I would like to know what factory makes these. Thanks for your help!

the quality should be pretty good i've used them before and haven't had a problem

besides at this price i don't mind a few screwups, but with burnproof i don't even care anymore ;)

I just saw something else that might be a warm deal. CompUSA has a Maxtor 45 GB HD for $169. No rebates or anything. But they don't say if it is 5400 rpm or 7200 and I don't know enough about Maxtor to say. The picture is pretty blurry as well. But maybe someone can do just as well at Buy.com if you can find some coupons, I don't know.

CompUSA also has a cordless PCI network card. I can't tell who makes it or how fast it is. The price is $119.99. I don't think this is much of a deal, but I haven't seen these before in stores. Maybe after a while these will come down in price so normal people can afford them. Wireless would be pretty cool. I just wonder what the range is and what other equipment you need. Also in the ad they have a Cordless ethernet bridge for $399.99. I hope you also don't need that thing to go with your wireless network card! That's pretty pricey. But it comes with a free wireless PCMCIA card, so maybe that helps with the sticker shock slightly.

There is most of a page about cell phone deals in the Best Buy ad, but I don't know much about cell phone prices or anything. And each phone requires activation, but maybe that is normal, I don't know. I don't know if these are good deals or not, but here goes:

For AT&T digital one rate they have 2 different Nokia Tri-mode phones. They show that you can get 450 minutes for $59.99. It says no roaming or long distance charges. One phone is $99.99 but has a $50.00 rebate, (5160). The other is $149.99 but also has a $50.00 rebate, (6160). The rebate is in the form of an ATM card you get by mail.

They have some phones for Sprint PCS also. One is a Samsung folding phone, (SCH-8500), for $169 after rebate. The other is a Kyocera, (QCP-2760) that is $69.99 after rebate. Each of these has a $30.00 mail in rebate. They show you can get either 500 minutes for $29.99 or 1000 for 49.99, all with nationwide long distance. In the fine print it says that the minutes are split evenly between anytime minutes and night/weekend minutes.

I just got the Nolia 5160 a few days ago. Great phone as far as I can tell. I even use it as an alarm clock. I hit the snooze button on it 4 times this morning :).

lol, my neighbor works at the place where they print the BB flyers. When Win ME first came on the ad's it was priced at $59 just like good ole MS website, but then Wal-mart et all came out with $49 so BB dropped thier prices also. When ever I go over to help him with his PC I usually look over the ads for the next month.

I wonder how those 12x 80 mins Best Buy CD-Rs compare with the Kingston CD-Rs from Outpost? Who really cares if the price is only $7.99 after rebate.

Rich - Smart choice in cell phones although I prefer and own the one model up Nokia 6190 (6160 on AT&T's system). Don't listen to what those envious Motorola, Samsung, SONY, Panasonic, Ericsson wimps say. You should customize your cell phone, here's a great thread filled with cell phone accessory bargains.

"Pimpin" your cell phone is about as lame as "pimpin" your rice rocket - what the hell is a blue faceplate one day going to do for you over a guy with a regular faceplate on his Nokia? Might as well blow your money on alcohol (least you have a good time doing it)

*LMAO* Sorry I didn't realize that I was "pimpin" my cell phone and yes that would be terribly lame.

My Nokia 6190 with slim vibrating Li-On battery ($18 Onvia.com) isn't that big. I've seen thinner phones but they're also longer.
