Best Buy buy sprint pcs phone get free dvd player ($100)

I went to best buy today and they ran out of the dvd players so they are giving away $100 gift certificates instead. This is basically free money if you ask me. Buy the cheapest phone fleabay it and you get $100 to spend on the geforce everyone is complaining about. Basically stores mess up and customers get pissed but they ALWAYS go back when there is another awesome deal available. (I didnt get in on it =()

I don't know BB, but at CC, if you do not sign contract, they will charge you big $$$ (hundreds for a basic phone), which you have no way to cover if you want to resell it.

Not true for Sprint phones.

Sprint PCS charges you for the phone, whether you buy it from a Sprint PCS store, or another vendor. (Best Buy, Circuit City, Radio Shack, etc.). They do not offer the "1-cent for the phone" w/ contract-type deals. So...you purchase the phone outright and then activate it. Sprint has no idea you have purchased the phone until you contact them to activate it.

Confirmed. This is at least available in the Baltimore area. It says it is for new activation, but I already have service and I'm not sure if they would offer me the deal if I just activated a new phone on my existing plan.

Are they going to mail the gift card to you latter or to give it to you at the time you buy the phone?

no contract needed,
$100 GC given to me immediately
they did charge me .01 for the phone and $100.00 for the GC
They arent too bright so Im not sure if that is correct.

Cheapest phone I saw was $99.

Since I already have two phones then it didn't make any sense to spend $99 for a DVD player and another phone which is not as good as the ones that I have. So no deal for me.

Besides, there was a Sprint salesman over there. How do you go around him without activating the account?

????

So, you paid $100.01 for the phone and GC?

Isn't that like paying $99.00 for the phone and getting the GC free? But, with no contract?

I mean, you still paid $100.00 bucks, but got a BB GC and phone. Not too hot in my opinion.

I talked to a guy at best buy and he stressed the new customer only stuff. I really would like to try it and hawk the phone on ehay, but I am afraid they will make me sign something. Can I do this w/o signing up? Thanks for any help.

They obviously mischarged you for that. With that deal, how are you supposed to get the rebate on the phone? tThe 1-cent phone deal would have been with another carrier and obviously, the woman screwed up. Of course, if the phone was $129 or something like that aand you got it free and only paid for the gift card, well...you still probably lose on the rebate side of things.

In my ad (the one linked with above), the phones are $129.99 and $149.99, each with $50 rebate. If you got the cheaper phone, you should have gotten the Touchpoint phone for $129.99 plus a DVD player (or $100 gift card, if that is what you store is giving) With that in mind, you woud pay $129.99 +tax, then send it the rebate form later for another $50 back (although the $50 may be issued as service credit. not sure) to end up as $79.99 plus incentive (DVD or GC) You paid less out of pocket up front, but I doubt you can get the rebate now.

The rebate is from Sprint. I am pretty sure that you need to activate the phone to get the rebate.
No big deal.

So I tried to get the DVD deal and they told me that this only works with a first-time activation. They call Sprint to verify that you haven't got an account already. Has anyone found a way around this?

it worked great for my friend and i we both got a phone all we had to say was that it was for a gift, they charged us for the gift card and sold us the phone for 29.99 the (tp 1100) anyway we are gona sell the phone at the place where we work since we know the onwer and we wlak away with two free cards... not bad. thanks for the hook up dude

fraud....maybe .....

they specify the rules of the game.....and we play within them

nowhere does it say you can't return the phone... as i recall that falls under a satisfaction guarentee.

Sprint is all over the television and newspaper giving 15 day satisfaction guarantees on their network. If you're not satisfied simply return the phone within 15 days - you'll only have to pay for the air time you used. End of contract. No penalty.
