I had read a couple places that best buy was giving people $50 gift cards for people that had purchased HD DVD players from them. I had purchased a x360 HD DVD player add on a bunch of months back when they had the 5 free movies, 2 free in store and Heroes S1 box set promotion.

I really did not think that I qualified for the gift card and didnt really look into it. In the mail today I got a letter from BBY with a gift card for $50 for my HD DVD purchase. I really think that is cool of them to do that. Its not their fault that the technology wasn't the "winner". Also, its cool of them to use their records to see that I had purchased one and send it without asking.

So for today BBY, I salute you for doing something good for the customer(s). I think I may go back tomorrow and get another of those Seagate 1TB drives :)

Dell sent my mom's business a 200 dollar gift card as a thank you for being a good customer ... she doesn't even spend all that much money there ... a high end workstation every couple years. She buys the monitors elsewhere, too. Anyway, thought that was cool of them.

Got mine today, as well. Trying to figure out what I want with it and the $20 of reward bucks I have.

I think everyone is missing the real good guys here, which would be circuit city.

I only paid $100 for the HD-A30, after they had all been discontinued, still got the rebate on it, and I bought like 15 movies online for cheap. Overall paid less than people are for just a Bluray player, and it still up-converts my normal DVDs. I'm not complaining :)
