Best budget router for access point?

What are you guys recommending nowadays for the best budget router to turn into an AP? I want to try to extend my wifi a little to the other end of the house.

A lot of people like the alternative firmware. I prefer to just leave things as is unless I have specific reason to do so.

It's really just a matter of personal preference. I'm not even sure the WNR2000 is flashable, but the WNDR3400 is. That's one reason why I would spend the extra for the WNDR3400.
