looks like cheapest is 55$ on ebay im not going to fry's its to far and takes to much time..

is e5200 worth the 55 or should i go 35 for 2140.. im going to overclock it with a nice 120mm heatsink i have alot of corecontact heatsinks.. tempted to just buy another q6600 and take the e6400 i have in a box still and use that.. i hate decisions.. guess ill check out some reviews..

the box will prob not even be used to encode or game.. maybe even a single core cpu?

E5300 is 45nm and E2140 is 65nm.

I would venture to say the 45nm CPU will make less heat.

I will go to Fry's later and if I can get a combo, I'll post this E5200 I already have on this forum. $50 shipped, still new in box (retail). That is if I can get that combo...

TigerDirect had the E5200 for $40 + $3 shipping, sold through Amazon.com.

Edit: Seems not anymore.

If you are giving them out as gifts I'd say go with the e2140s as most users if they are like my mom won't know the difference between that and an e8600. If you know that one of the recipients might use it for more than just basic browsing, email, and web games you could spring for the e5xxx or something. Just my 2 pennies :)

out of stock at every store in the company by now. palo alto ran out in all of 4 hours today with more than 40 boards and chips to start

You realize that you are responding to him more than a day later?

Anyways....

I thought it would be sold out when I showed up at 9PM last night. Wasn't so I bought one (Anaheim store)

you can probably get one relatively cheap from ebay, sold my e2160 for 40 shipped last month and E7200 for $75 shipped last week, so I think you can probably find some decent deals there.
