for socket A and socket 370? i need stability and low cost 🙂 some people around the neighbourhood want me to build some cheap systesm for them, but i have no idea where to start with value boards 😕 any suggestions? thanks 🙂

Epox EP-8KTA($95)or 8KTA+($100)are great boards. The FIC AZ11 can be found on the web for as little as $85 and is also a good MB. Stay away from lesser known brands such as PCChips, Amptron or Lucky Star as they will not provide any tech support on their websites if you get into trouble.

Well for a socket 370 solution the Tekram P6L40-A4E is available on Tekram's website for only $25. This is an old LX board but will support Celerons (with a slocket) all the way up to 733mhz. That's a fast chip coupled with a $25 board. You're not getting as fast of a solution as a Duron but the motherboard price is CHEAP. I actually ordered one of these a few months ago and stuck it in my closet, but I've recently started a project to build a 633 Celeron system with it and some other parts I got lying around.
