So my good ole Radeon X800XL crapped out after 3 years of great service, I need a PCI-E replacement <$100.

Ive been looking at :

Evga Geforce 8600 GT 512mb $83

Monitor is 19 CRT, was able to play both games (WOW and warcraft III) fine at 1600x1200 with no hiccups. They also have the Radeon X1650PRO 512mb for less (~$55).

Any ideas? Thanks! :)

since you're not talking about DX10 games, or really anything remotely high-end, the x1650 PRO would probably be a better choice for War3 and WoW. Might as well save $30 if you're going cheap anyway.

1650pro is piss poor. Probably worse than your old card for WOW.

8600 gts 512mb for $94.99

has $20 rebate and
use google checkout as new user to -$10 or
if you already have a google checkout account most likely you have -$20

so

94.99 - 20 rebate - 10/20 = $64 / 54

bought it last week got it a few days ago, works great for wow.

play 1400x 800 everything max in wow

8600gt doesn't overclock better than 8600gts. The stock settings for 8600gts is 675/2000. It's no brainer as Jackdruid pointed out with that price. If you can use the google checkout that would be a good deal.

Don't always count on rebates though as all of them do not come or just a big hassle for you to get your check.

If you want to step up a notch a EVGA 8800gs for $110 after rebate is heck of a deal too. Should be twice as fast as 8600gts. EVGA at least are known to be good with rebates.

I was talking about VS the HD 3650,of course the GTS will OC better, and not everyone does rebates,so for some people, the GT is still cheaper.
