Best brand of fuel/air filters?

I need to change the fuel and air filters on a Mercedes 300D. Shouldn't be to hard. However, I've never bought filters before, so I don't know what brands suck and what brands are good. I've heard good things about Wix(from the teevee?), bad things about Fram, nothing about Bosch, and OEM is hard/expensive to get.

Any suggestions?

Wix are decent.
Fram historically sucks, but apparently their new filters are ok.

Overall it's not going to make a huge difference which one you choose.

I use Puralator for oil and just started using Fram for Air. I cant afford that K&N stuff.

www.buymbparts.com They have all the OE brands and excellent prices. Hengst, Mann, Bosch, Mahle. I've used Mahle and Bosch on my Mercs
