I am going to be buying an ATX case with atleast 4 5.25" drive bays, 2 3 1/2" drive bays, and room for atleast 2 hard drives. Are there any particular brand cases I should get, or does it not matter as long as the material the case is made out of is the same. I heard that cases made with aluminum are the best to get. Is this true? What would be the best way for air flow through the case to keep it as cool as possible inside? I don't plan on overclocking right away, but maybe in the near future. I only plan on a little bit of overclocking, not as far as the CPU will overclock.

Here is the system I plan to build:

*Pentium 4 3.0 GHz 800 MHz FSB
*Gigabyte GA-8IK1100 motherboard- 875P chipset (same as Gigabyte GA-8KNXP, only without IDE RAID, gigabit LAN controller, and DPS2)
*ATI Radeon 9800 Pro video card
*2 512MB DDR SDRAM PC3200 DIMMs for a total of 1GB system RAM in dual channel configuration
*2 Western Digital 8MB cache hard drives: 40 GB and 120 GB
*3 CD/DVD drives: 16X/48X LiteOn DVD-ROM, 32X/12X/40X LiteOn 32123S CD-RW, and Pioneer DVR-A04 DVD-RW
*Sound Blaster Audigy Gamer sound card
*possible EIDE controller card that goes into PCI slot for the extra drives if need be
*Altec Lansing 5 Piece Speaker System with subwoofer
*2 Microsoft SideWinder game controllers with USB connectors
* Microtech scanner with USB connector
*HP Deskjet 693C printer (purchased brand new in 1997)
*Antec standard 12V ATX power supply with 450 or 500 Watts

Aluminum is nice because it is light and does contribute some to cooling (maybe 1 deg C at best) - but that 's not enough to justify the high prices to me.
. You would be hard pressed to come up with a better case than the Antec, Chieftec, Chenming, etc. variants. Like the Antec SLK3700 which can be had from Staples for $78.50 (for a limited time) shipped - even less if you use one of their ubiquitious coupons. Or you can get a very similar unit under the Compucase name (6A or 69 series - check particularly the 6920) on NE (newegg).
. Another nice case I've seen lately that looks promising is also sold under several names (Bow Tech , Enermax, Avance, KeyPower, etc.). Best current price is the Bow Tech for $45. Pair that with a nice 350W PSU from Fortron, Sparkle or Compucase/Heroichi and you've got something.
. Of course, none of these are garishly flashy which appears to be in favor these days - just highly functional.

Where's the :sun: ?

I prefer Antec, for a nice-looking un-modded functional case. The Performance Plus series is great (I have the 660 AMG).
