best book for novice ambitious pc builder

Hey everyone,
I'm looking for a recommendation on the best book around for a novice pc-builder.
I have a comp sci degree but really know little/nothing about hardware.

I'm about to build my own PC and my friend said I'm an idiot if I don't buy a book first.

He recommended:
Upgrading and Repairing PCs, 16/e (Hardcover)
by Scott Mueller

Is this the best one?

Thanks!

it's not computer science. kooldrew's link is a keeper. if you can use a screw driver and read basic instructions (assuming your various components are compatible) you should be fine. this forum can also assist you with most questions. good luck and welcome to AT btw.
