i will suggest you wait on that, theres tons of really great flash websites, and since flash5.0 just came out, many of the current books will be obsolete. theres not really a big big change between 4.0 and 5.0 however for a newbie i can see the person feeling lost.

you may just want to goto http://www.were-here.com forums and take a look at peoples' work.
thats the best way to learn flash. try to figure out how people made stuff.
the best flash book i found was the Flash4 Bible (not sure if they have a Flash5 Bible yet), but try it on your own first
